Return from Troy

Following the fall of Troy, as recounted in Homer's Iliad, Idomeneus  encountered numerous challenges on his journey back to Crete. His adventures and tribulations on the seas were a popular subject in ancient Greek literature and drama.

Tragic Fate

Despite his heroic exploits during the Trojan War, Idomeneus' story took a tragic turn upon his return to Crete. According to some accounts, he faced the wrath of Poseidon due to a vow he had made during his journey home. This led to a series of unfortunate events and ultimately resulted in a sorrowful conclusion for the once-great king.
